Abstract: The focus of this research is to prevent floods by implementing hydrology management techniques and by saving the flood water in order to reduce the drought's impact on the city of Khansar and its gardens. The effects of water conservation measures on water resources as well as watershed management have been reviewed and analyzed for possible use in the 18 sub-basins. Detailed information from the sub-basins was derived by using air photos and topography maps. Based on a statistical and analytical tool for the precipitation (rain and snow), spring water, and run-off in the sub-basins, a huge amount of discharge flows out of this drainage river during the wet periods. On the other hand, progressive droughts increased the water crisis in the river basin during the drought periods. For this reason, the underground water level of 12 wells along the river shows a significant drop. After a brief summary of the research on flood management, several perspectives on flood control and conservation are put forward.
