Within the two years of Khansar's Dam Reservoir construction in Iran, two major issues have been observed and studied: Sedimentation and potential flood risk. Due to the current rate of sedimentation from the upper canyons, this study predicts a significant decrease in the life expectancy of the Dam's reservoir. This causes a decrease in the reservoir storage capacity. In addition, the lack of sediment management has increased the chance of flood risk to the city, downstream from the reservoir. This study provides approaches to maintain the reservoir storage capacity and to reduce the flood risk to the city, thereby saving
